Ian was born and raised in the West County. He graduated in law from what is now De Montfort University in 1987 and was admitted as a solicitor in 1990.

Ian joined Berry Redmond and Robinson in 2007 as part of their wills and probate team. He specialises in wills, estates, powers of attorney and the Court of Protection. He also has experience of bringing and defending Inheritance Act claims.

Ian is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners, having gained an overall Distinction in the entrance exams. This marks him out as an accredited specialist in his field.

Ian has experience of tax issues (Inheritance, Capital Gains and Income), estates with foreign elements, varying wills, trusts and trustee issues.

The common thread in Ian's career has been the desire to advise and assist people encountering difficulties in their lives. He joined BRR to continue this as he perceives the firm has a very real commitment to the community. He was made partner in May 2010.

Away from work, Ian is married with three children, enjoys running and is closely involved with the church that meets in his home.
