Gill qualified as a Solicitor in 1964, after five years articled to John Stebbings, at Payne Hicks Beach, New Square, Lincolns Inn. After qualifying she stayed with Payne Hicks Beach for a further two years and then moved to the West Country to join the firm of Earle and Gardner in Axbridge. Over the years, as is the wont of solicitors' practices, the firm was renamed Gardner & Berry, then Berry Redmond & Hooper then Berry Redmond & Robinson. She was made partner in 1988. In May 2010, Gill retired as a partner and became a consultant.

After many years of conveyancing, Gill now is Head of the department dealing with Wills, Probate, Trusts, Inheritance Tax planning and Court of Protection matters including lasting Powers of Attorney and Receiverships.

Away from the Office, Gill can be found walking (with or without dogs), gardening, sailing, ski-ing in Winter (but less of the latter two activities now) - she lives with her husband in a village in Somerset.
