Owen read Law at Warwick University and qualified as a solicitor in 1974, dealing initially with civil litigation, criminal defence and employment.
He began his career as a partner in a large firm of Wiltshire solicitors, where he remained for 20 years, specialising in Criminal Advocacy, including Courts Marshall and defending the full range of criminal matters from motoring to murder.
Owen is a member of the CDS Duty Solicitor Scheme. He is an Employment Law specialist, offering advice both to employers and employees, and advocacy before Employment Tribunals.
Since 1997 Owen has been an associate with Berry Redmond & Robinson, concentrating on Criminal Defence, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury and Employment.
Owen has also been a Non-Executive Director of Wiltshire Health NHS Trust and past Chairman of the Regional Duty Solicitor Committee.
Owen is married; his wife is also a practising solicitor and they have three grown-up children; he lists archaeology and ancient history as his hobbies and whenever possible likes walking the moors from where his family hail.
